Cast Acrylic Perspex is locally manufactured by Perspex South Africa and is a consistent, high quality durable material. Perspex has a significantly longer lifespan and improved characteristics over cheaper rival materials and has been the material of choice within the global signage industry for over 60 years. Cast Acrylic Sheet from Perspex South Africa can easily be formed and fabricated by simple workshop processes such as heat bending, sawing, drilling, polishing and routing. Perspex can also be fabricated by experienced vacuum forming, drape forming and press forming artisans into a wide variety of exciting signage applications. Perspex is supplied with a protective clear layer of cladding which ensures the surface remains scratch free for as long as possible.

Given the highly visual nature of this exceptionally strong product, Perspex can be specified into a wide variety of lighting, cladding and decorative
applications.
Flooring
Many entertainment buildings (eg. dance halls and restaurants either interior or exterior) use the light transmitting property of Perspex to provide design features. The surface hardness of Perspex is usually acceptable for floors and if required the surface gloss can be refurbished by polishing.
Balcony Guards
Perspex has been used for balcony guard in-fill panels globally for over 20 years. Typically, 6 mm and 8 mm sheets are used to ensure rigidity and impact strength. The exceptional weathering performance of Perspex ensures that no significant loss of mechanical properties takes place over a number of years.
Perspex South Africa is in the process of transforming itself from a production led organisation to a driven, sales led organisation which fully understands the
dynamic needs of its marketplace. The company boasts 2 full scale production cast plants, still on the original site, and an extrusion machine capable of producing
a variety of extruded materials to complement the Cast Acrylic Sheet produced in our cast plants. As members of the Responsible Care Initiative, we take
advantage of the recyclable nature of our products by operating a Depolymerisation Plant which converts scrap Perspex into Methyl Methacrylate Monomer, the
primary raw material used in the production of Perspex.
Perspex South Africa is fully BEE Compliant, having achieved a Level 4 BEE Status. We are also ISO 2001 compliant and operate a full SHEQ program, run by a
permanent SHE Officer on site. “Safety before profit” is an absolute at Perspex South Africa. Perspex South Africa also regularly contributes to various charitable

Innovation is a key focus for Perspex South Africa as we drive our product offering forward in an increasingly competitive and educated marketplace. Our on

Perspex South Africa’s head office and production plant is based in Umbogintwini Chemical Complex just south of Durban, South Africa. This location forms the
hub of our international operation and in addition to our cast plant production operation, houses our administration, sales and warehousing divisions. Furthermore
Perspex South Africa has Sales Offices in both Cape Town and Johannesburg to ensure national coverage within the countries borders, as well as international
representation via a network of export agents focusing on most regions globally.

is well suited to thin gauge applications from 400 microns upwards such as
packaging, business card manufacture and general printing.
High Density Polyethylene is a durable, rigid engineering plastic, which
can be vacuum formed and fabricated into various applications. HDPE has
excellent chemical resistance and is lightweight and strong.
